Periodic prints of the past are one of the most important sources in existence for the historically working sciences of the present – not only to research political and economic interrelations, but also to reconstruct past everyday lives. The digitised periodical material is, of course, equally relevant for the layman interested in history. Family researchers, for example, will find many address books for their work among the Wratislavia Digitalis (dating from between 1832 and 1926). Visitors will also find journals, annual reports of the many Breslau associations and societies, old lecture directories and a comprehensive inventory of the statistical yearbooks of Breslau.

The original sources or the digitised versions produced based on own originals were provided to us by the Martin-Opitz library (Herne), the Schlesisches Kulturwerk (Würzburg) and the Haus Schlesien (Königswinter). At a later time, digitised works of the Schlesische Zeitung from the inventory of the university library of Breslau will be added.
